Lara K is a nationally recognized survivor leader, strategist, and founder of Survivor Source, an Oklahoma-based national nonprofit amplifying the voices, expertise, and leadership of human trafficking survivors. Drawing on her own lived experience, Lara has built a career dismantling stereotypes, advancing survivor-informed solutions, and designing programs that put power back in the hands of those most impacted.
Lara holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Organizational Leadership. She is a licensed Behavioral Health Case Manager II, with additional training in trauma-informed care, curriculum design, and leadership development. Her expertise bridges the worlds of survivor advocacy, organizational strategy, and public education, making her a sought-after consultant and trainer nationwide.
Through Survivor Source and Rahmah Recruiting, Lara has launched the Survivor Career Community for peer-to-peer professional development, and she partners with law enforcement, public agencies, and national organizations to deliver trainings that bridge the gap between policy and lived reality. She is also co-leading The Art of the Fight, an innovative survivor-led event blending self-defense, leadership, and community connection to equip survivors with practical skills and solidarity.
Known for her bold voice and unflinching honesty, Lara’s work is fueled by a belief that survivors are not just experts by experience—they are essential leaders in the anti-trafficking movement. She is also a devoted mother, martial arts practitioner, and creative storyteller who uses every platform—from professional trainings to TikTok—to educate, inspire, and disrupt the narratives that keep exploitation hidden.
